I really don't see a huge problem for swapping the interior, just make sure all the clips and bolts gets replaced. But I feel his pain, and I'd do the same if the production isn't towards the end.
What I think is a reasonable offer is to swap the interior, and refund the cost of individual package + the cost of the trip.
You won't notice the interior is reused unless they tell you, and they don't really need to.
