Is the retrofit the OEM reversing camera?
If so, check the fuse to the camera module. If the fuse is OK, I will tell you it can be one of several things considering its a retrofit.
poor power wire tapping
poor grounding
poor connection from cam module to canbus
poor video connections at back of iDrive head unit
bad camera
bad camera cable
bad camera module
Apologies, but honestly, I'd use the above as a troubleshooting guide.
