Speedo's can be up to 10% out (intentionally by manufacturer), therefore theoretically you could have an indicated reading of up to 170.5 mph on the speedo. The best way of checking is to use a GPS device vs the speedo, prior to having sat nav in my recent cars I used a Tom Tom and this always showed up the inaccuracies in the speedo.
