Yes that is true. The first tyre was pretty good, i drove safely back to where i needed to be, and i think could have given another 50-100 kms with 4 people in the car.
The 2nd tyre was purchased from some local tyre shop , although same spec but not sure how old it was etc. And this one didnt hold up well after the sidewall cut but BMW dealer came within an hour to my location on the highway. Not bad.
I am going to get the space saver spare next week.
