Somebody was driving that car fast and didn't see the infraction on the road. If it was traveling slow and hit a pothole, that would not have caused a dent. Car is probably ok pending alignment check. Check it well and get due bill for alignment if necessary. Tires might have to replaced too. Check for bubbles on the sidewall.
