Quite a step down in power and performance but if you've driven it and you're happy with it, then fantastic - enjoy!!
As you say, the interior is lovely and the toys that can be specced on the F-Series cars are fantastic. And agreed, with some cash spent on the exterior, the 5er looks brilliant. Again, a rarity in the grand scheme of things in the UK as most opt for the 520d EfficientDynamics or keep SE spec and standard wheels on their 520d/525d and even 530d.
