BMW does a good job of confusing us between the models and which options were available within the years
Best way to confirm your rear bar size is look underneath at the bar and you'll see a sticker on it. My 2012 550i does have EDC (electronic dampener control) but NOT have ARS (auto roll stabilization) and the rear bar is only 14.0 mm (see pic)...so the upgrade to a 650i 16mm rear bar is in my plans.
