I was wondering the same thing. My guess is the spacers are being added for aggressive looks and a wider track. A wider track might add a very slight performance gain. Although, it also increases the chance to rub. Probably, the OP sees there is room without risk of rubbing and is doing this more for looks.
Those H&R do sound tempting.
