I had my right rear vapor seal replaced three times. Two consecutive times the dealer repair shop didn't get good adherence of the seal, and it leaked again as soon as it rained hard. The last time they sealed the crap out of it, and assured me the door would fall off before that seal would again.

Your concern should be with any water that saturates the rear floor board. There is about 6 inches of foam under the carpet there, and it all needed to come out of the car to dry and be disinfected to ensure there wasn't a mold problem in the future.
