FYI for the travel bit, info back from Maciej at BimmerTech (which worked for me):
Setting up how far up the trunk lid should open to:
Manually set the trunk lid on the place you want to open and hold it there. Then press and hold the close button (in idle mode it should be backlit orange) and wait until it flashes (about 5 seconds).
Now just need to hear back on why it closes after opening again!
