You should all try, dare I say, 'Kwik Fit' I was able to get a full set of 18" 3D V rated Runflats for my F11 530D for £920.

They are amazing in the wet, quiet and a better ride than the summer Conti's.

The way to look at the outlay is to think that you are sharing the wear between two sets of tyres. My experience last year with an Audi Allroad on summer tyres was to find that I had loads of traction in snow with the 4 wheel drive system but I could not stop! The other problem was that the tyres wore unbelievably quickly (spinning all 4 wheels does not help).

My wife runs a little Yaris and we put on a set of winter tyres, it became a little mountain goat and did not get stuck anywhere through all the worst of the winter in NE of England last year. When she took the winter tyres off in the spring they still looked like new.
