Yep! That's totally true.

It is the startup voltage every time the kit draws the power, it records in the irregularities in the ECU and over time, the spike in voltage causes the computer to think there is indeed something wrong with the light and thereby shutting down the LCM altoghether thus causing the adaptive function of the headlight to fail.

I had that failed on my 2008 E60 and (expensive) lesson learned.
