There is no modern evidence that an oil change before the BMW indicated one (after 30k kms) is any better for the engine. These hypotheses are based on old school motor maintenance. Taken the car through his first thousand kms without needless overstraining of any moving parts makes the engine parts adjust at the proper way, ie without unwanted wear. A fully warmed up new BMW motor will stand up to a stretch of autobahn on max speed, but what works for d, is not a recommendation by BMW. Or any other engine builder I know of. Some new cars burn a little oil the first thou kms, so check your levels and replenish if asked for. Most BMWs do not keep burning oil, if any, after they are run in.
