Did I buy the wrong TPMS? Universal TPMS? Please help.

So, I went on ebay and scored some HUF TPMS which the description said was for the f10 550i (my production year is 04/11).

I mount my wheels, reset my TPMS, and each time it shows that it does not recognize the TPMS.I do this a few times while on the ride home, same results. I check my tire pressure and made sure they were the 38 in the front and 42 in the rear as prescribed by my owner's manual.

I do some further research and find that these TPMS i purchased are "Universal" TPMS" and "The Huf IntelliSens is a universal sensor and must be configured before mounting". WTF does this mean? Do I have to take these out to a shop that has the TPMS reader/activator to get these things turned on?

Here's the listing for further clarification:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/360835859616...616%26_rdc%3D1

or the item #

360835859616

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Almost inclined to purchase directly from the dealer or a vendor so I won't do a crapshoot again with the TPMS.

Thanks!
