Yep, BMW use an E-Diff in their Series cars, which works in conjunction with DSC and EBD (Electronic Brake Distribution) which basically brakes the inside wheel to stop it spinning up like a standard diff would.
The E-Diff also locks up when DSC is completely off so you can hoon!
