If giving you access to the whole world wide web, night or day is "not very functional" then I'm my fannie's aunt.
It is, however, true to say that the same functionality is duplicated in your smartphone.
However, as a BMW option, this one is as close to free as you can get.
If I ever lose, drop or forget to take my phone it will be very handy to be able to contact someone quite quickly.
Also, the screen is way bigger than a phone, which may be handy for some images.
The real question is - why wouldn't you tick this £95 option? An oversight maybe?
