When BMW 5er GT arrived in the US Market. By the first year BMW sold the past three years combined of E61 units in it's first year.

Let's be honest...
E61 5-series wagon was butt f***ing ugly.
Bringing 5 GT was even worse design-wise and it was just not as practical as the regular wagon.
Bringing F11 touring however is a different story.
It's beautiful, more practical and most importantly much nicer looking than the E-class wagon.
