1. I recommend using the dry over oiled air filter to avoid oil contaminants on the MAF
2. Using 15mm, remove bolt(s) from LH strut
3. Unclip fasters x3 and remove dirty stock air filter
4. Compare stock vs aftermarket filters, verify size and fitment
5. Vacuum and clean air box
6. Do the reverse for reinstallation of hardware
OP, can you take a picture of your engine bay and how easy it was?
It looks like the X3 28 is very similar to the 528
My air-filter box is so weird
