This is a very important point. The inline six is BMW's core competency, not just purely in terms of power, but all things: balance, weight,efficiency, handling. I know people will point to the N54 as being unreliable, but let's not turn this into a HPFP thread.
I think (and hope to god), that BMW has learned from their mistakes in the past generation inline 6, DI, turbo petrol engines.
