I was replacing the heater valve in my 2011 550i N63 and did the coolant bleed as described. I heard an electrical pump kick on but it really did not bleed the system as powerfully as I saw in youtube videos, so Im assuming its failing. I know there is a mechanical pump for the engine as well as an electrical pump. I was under the impression that the electrical pump was just for the turbos as it has its own coolant reservoir. So So is there another electrical pump that is bleeding the coolant when I do the bleeding proceedure after having replaced the heater valve or is it the same electrical pump used for the turbos?

Could your battery be weak? I’d check the voltage before and during the procedure.

Turned out to be a bad auxiliary heater core water pump easy repair. Was found behind the driverside fender well.
