No Front License Plates - We're Lucky in Florida!

Hi Everyone:

With all the talk about de-badging, etc., to improve the looks of our F10s, I was thinking how lucky we are here in Florida (and some other states) that a front plate is not required on our F10s (or any other car for that matter).

I recently relocated here from California, where front plates are required. I never put front plates on there either and, each time I bought a new car, I had to sign a 'waiver' for the dealer, so they didn't get into trouble.

Over the years I only had about 3 or 4 tickets for no front plate (no points on license) so, for me, it was well worth the $35 per ticket.

I'm originally from England and I know that, if you have no front plate there, the police will be all over you within 20 minutes!!

Anyone else leave off their front plates when the state requires one?

Regards - Roger

I am in California and I am thinking of not putting front license plate. I am in San Diego and I see about 1 in 20 cars without front license plate.

I live in Texas where the front plate is required, I signed the waiver at the dealer and have the front plate sitting in the storage bin in the trunk.

I think the fine here the fine for not having the front plate is around $200.

That said I started looking around for cars that didn't have front plates mounted, and the trend seems to be on BMW and MB, most others around here have the front plates.

Hawaii here. I leave the BMW European Delivery (tourist) plates on both the front and the rear, with the state plates stored in the trunk.

Thumbs down Illinois here.............

Gang,

Here in Illinois they are required.... That said I don't have them on any of my cars. I have an "Arrest me Red" Nissan "370 Z" plus a second "Arrest me Red" Toyota "X Runner". I also don't have them on our new 528......!! A little civil disobedience on my part. Sorry State of Illinois, but screw you and your stupid law.......!

No front plate on 550i xdrive here in CT though its law, no waiver needed to sign, front plate and bracket in trunk, no holes drilled on front bumper. First time with no front plate for me and it just looks so damn good.

as the dealer said, its truly a shame to drill holes into the front bumper of such a beautiful car. Hopefully the law will leave me alone (i now notice that there are many cars on the road here in southwestern CT without front plates)
