Order now or wait for the September 2011 build?
Looking for some input from the forum:
Long story short, I'm replacing the 550i for another one. Should I order now (assuming there's no wait) or wait for the Sept build? Sept build only gets me HUD color (as I recall from reading the forum). Any other reason to wait? If I wait to order, I'm without a car for maybe 3 months. Order now, the wait (hopefully) is 2 months. Thoughts? |

I thought the full-color HUD already happened as of earlier this year.

You'll get a better deal and avoid any price increase by buying now... besides I believe the color HUD is already available. Your SA should be able to confirm this.

If you are buying and keep for a long time, buy now.
If you are buying and keep it for few years, buy 2012 model. If you are leasing, buy now If you hate auto stop-start, buy now |

I would hate auto stop-start... but I thought start/stop would be standard on the 528/535s only -- i.e. not on 550s? Definitely going to submit order now if I'm wrong.

If you use the X5 price changes as a proxy, then the price change will depend on how you want to equip the car. With the X5, base model price went up (because they made more equipment standard), but if you went for a very well equipped model, then the price was lower for the 2012. So if you want car stripped you will pay more, if you want it well equipped you may be even or better off. |
