Battery Replacement Gone Wrong - Trunk Access
Hello -
I have an ActiveHybrid 5. When replacing the 12V battery, the trunk was absentmindedly shut. I have the new battery but I cannot access the trunk. There is no ability to go through the back seat, as that is where the hybrid battery is located. How do you manually access a F10 trunk without a battery? I have searched the repair manuals and can't find a solution. Any recommendations greatly appreciated! |

What I would try (without confirmation, I definitely don't recommend this)...
Using jumper cables, I would connect the battery to the under-hood terminals. Then I'd use the remote (or inside release) to pop the trunk. Then I'd remove the jumper cables post haste. Just a thought and YMMV |
