F11recall , battery may cause fire
I got a letter from BMW, they want to inspect and fix some battery connection, its a risk that it can cause fire. Does this involve the F10 too?

No, I just mentions my chassis number, and that the protection for the battery-cable may be loose. It may cause variation in the power supply that may cause disturbances in electrical systems and fire because of heat generated in the loose connection.
They have to change the protection for+ connection to the battery and check the battery-cable protection in the trunk. Mine is September 10 production. Last edited by Touring; 10-21-2012 at 12:59 PM.. |

Got the letter, june 2010 production. Is this the same fault as the E60/61/63/64 battery cable recall?

I dont know, my previous BMW is/was an E46. Never any problems with that one.

Just had a talk with my workshop. This is an error generated by BMW Norway. They wrongly mixed up some E60s with some F10s, You will probably receive a "we regret"-letter later on.
