F10 Seat Options
Hi all! I picked up a 2014 535xi M-Sport Alpine white on black with carbon trim recently, and I've been searching for a way to swap my seats with another F10 owner for their red or brown interior. (I also own a white on dakota brown e90 also + just love the color combo.)
Was wondering if a 2013 F10 seats + trim would fit perfectly inside a 2014 F10, and if the wiring is exactly the same for heated seats (I understand there was a facelift, but not sure if any of the interior dimensions changed at all.) Does anyone know with absolute certainty? Thanks in advance! |

They both should mount but the wiring and connectors would depend on the style of seats. Check www.realoem.com |

Thanks!
Any chance you'd know if the F10 M5 seats fit inside the F10 535xi as well? |

OK. I found orange sakhir seats from a 2014 M5, ventilated. Not sure if they'll fit my 2014 535xi, but if anyone can confirm/deny for sure, it'll help before I go through with it.
Thanks in advance! Just asking here because Google + the search function here doesn't have anyone confirming it. |

seats are one of the hardest subjects to find real data on. i wanted to swap my seats out but seems like a PITA to do as well as coding to be done and whether or not airbag errors will be an issue?

Pre-LCI seats rails are wider than LCI seat rails.
I did the swap of M5 seats in my LCI car. Coded and worked out fine...no air bag errors, either. Depending how much you really want M5 seats in an LCI F10, there are things to consider: 1. Wiring: Much harder to install and get working if you have basic seats and/or limited memory (there are a lot of seat configurations)...and I had heated Sport seats, so going to M5 comfort required no additional wiring 2. Switches: So if you get M5 seats with ventilation, and your F10 does not, you will need a new climate control panel 3. Rail Trim: The rear trim pieces on the back rails aren't interchangeable 4. Carpet: Since the seat rails are actually different and spaced apart differently, and depending on how you install your seats, the outer carpet holes will show after installing pre-LCI seats into an LCI vehicle Please do not ask me how I mounted...due to liability, I am not inclined to provide any details, but it can be done.... There was zero information that I could find where anyone else attempted.....but they work and look great....and installed the "Gentleman's Switch"....that is killer - use driver's seat controls to move passenger's seat...best MOD ever..... Until corrected (per online info) all F10 ///M5's are considered pre-LCI (thru 2016) Last edited by M_Bimmer; 08-02-2020 at 03:06 PM.. |

1. I have heated front and rear seats (2014 F10). I read somewhere sport seats weren't offered in North American cars. 2. Yikes. Guess I'll need a new control panel for the ventilation. Maybe I can code it to current panel? 3+4. Do you have photos you could share? Via DM or a link or texted to my phone could work + would extremely helpful. Seeing pictures and not getting a description on how to do the work would be entertaining. I mean, I can't even do it if I wanted to. |

You can't code the current one to remap anything, there's literally no wiring for it without the new panel. But the panel isn't too expensive, around $150 on the fleabays.

These seat names are such a pain....
I did go from Comfort seats with lumbar adjustment (S456) to M-Multifunction Seats (S4MA)...and haven't seen any posts in the last 6 years on this forum or others that have performed the S4MA retrofit in place of the S456....while I may have used "sport" seat incorrectly, there seems to be variations of the multi-contour seat, so I called them "sport" - so correct, Sport seats weren't offered in the US...and RealOEM lists the M5 in the pre-LCi catalog, so I just went with that...my mistake. So I would love if someone could produce a thread or post showing any year F10 M5 seat being successfully retrofitted into an LCI F10 535/528....any. Would prefer that my rails use the factory attach points.....so if the F10 LCI M5 seat rails match with F10 LCI other variations, which they should, then this would be nice to know...I'll sell my pre-LCI M-multifunction seats, and look for LCI M-multifunction seats...(in Merino Silverstone) Until then, my 1/2" C-channel brackets will have to do...
