Clearing emissions is the big problem by bringing the diesels to North America. They'd probably have to dumb down their HP/TQ figures and then people would cry about that.

Beautiful “M” line up. I like the interior color of the GT, not a big fan of the exterior design. I agree with the other posts here the names are getting way to long. Need to get back to the simple names. Love the space gray X3, but I am biased on that one.
Hopeful that we can get some of the diesel performance engines in the states soon. The time is definitely right for them here. |

Can someone explain to me the purpose of the GT model. I'm not gonna bark about how terrible looking it is, I just don't understand it's target market or what it represents in the line up..... Help.

imho
i'd love to see the m550d here in the states and i'd probably buy one as soon as it gets here. i think that model would sell if priced appropriately between the 550i and M5. one gets incredible performance and great fuel economy. what's not to love??!! and while on the topic of a diesel engine, why can't we get the little 2.0d here in the states???
i don't get the 5gt...besides the fact that, IMO, it's ugly, what is it's purpose? i travel regularly and I rarely ever see a 5gt on the road. i don't see how the sales figures support that vehicle unless it's incredibly cheap to make (which i doubt). i like the idea of the x1..esp the x35. i think it'd be a fun car to run around town in. big enough for the bikes inside and the kayak on top but still carry 4 people comfortably when needed. and i've got a feeling that the little suv would be fairly quick off the line with the turbo i6. |
