Windshield tint + hud
I have film on all my cars windshields except the f10. Keeps the car much cooler and my eyes are very light sensitive. Will it work with HUD?

Front windshield tint make a world of a difference in this Florida heat!!! I was planning on a 70% Carbon tint.

So, just to be clear:
When some post that they have tint on their windshield, they mean a strip up top. Those of you who state they have tint on their windshield, did you tint the entire windshield? And HUD works fine? |

I just bought F10 550i recently, and since i had windsheild tinted on my other car, i decided not to tint the whole windshield on F10. When my e39 was tinted all the way and windshield was 50%, i got pulled over so many times and had so many warnings about the tint and finally i got a ticket for windshield 50%, ticket for rear doors being 5% and a ticket for the rear windshiled again 5%.
With F10 its different, i bought it and the rear doors and rear windshield was already tinted in 10% or so, front doors are legal limit. i have those BMW curtains all over the bACK SO I don't need it to be so dark, so if i get pulled over for that i will have to redo it. the winshield on F10.... i would like to have a strip on it, but it would look good if it lined up with a mirror or even a bit lower, however, if i was to do that, it would cover up about half of the windshield because mirror mount is so low on our cars. does anyone have any pictures of the strip on F10??? |

I'm in Miami as well. Did you end up getting your tinting done and, if so, can you recommend a shop?

I have 3M CR70 on my windshield and it does not interfere with the HUD at all.

I love how it came out, I have it at 5% and i don't see why anybody would go for lighter tint

This thread was originally about tinting the entire windshield, not just the strip on top.

Tinting the whole windshield just seems very dangerous. I just had my car tinted but I have never touched the windshield.

The HUD works better after tinting 70. Night time very little reduction in visibility. Day light and night rain are improved.
