BMW dealership offering buy back
Hello. I just received this email from my dealership today for my lease and I'm just wondering if it's bogus.
" Hi Jermie, I was looking over your BMW 5 SERIES deal back from 2011. Based on my math, I may be able to get you out of your current vehicle and into a new 2013 model with more options and with no money out of pocket. When can you stop by so I can look over your car and make an offer to buy back your current BMW? The majority of clients I am able to transition into newer model year BMW’s do so with no down payment, no security deposit or prep fees, and end up selling back their current model for more than book value. Of course this offer may not work on every make and model BMW, but give us the opportunity to try. I value you as a customer and will try my best to make this a reality. Let me know if this is something you may be interested in. If I don’t hear back from you today, I’ll give you a call tomorrow to discuss in greater detail. Thanks, Eric Rivera Sales Manager " |

He doesn't seem to mention whether the monthly payments would change. Just mentions no upfront money.....

I would not dismiss this offer to quickly, here in Canada, BMW Financial has been offering a ton of incentives on early lease termination, in my case I had a 2011 535i , had 12 months left on my lease and my dealer moved me into a 2012 XI with M Sport Package , all be it I landed up taking my sales managers car which had abt 5k on it , my lease payments increased a bit but I would have had to get new tires and brakes were coming due on my 535i so the extra lease increase would have amounted to the same as the costs to change tires and brake job.
I am sure that BMW USA is also offering these incentives, plus lease rates are lower now than 2 years ago so maybe worth a look see. Does not hurt to check it out especially since they contacted you.

Nothing in his email may be a lie. He could do all those things and roll any additional money into your monthly payment. So, its not bogus. But does it make sense for you to do that? Thats a whole other question
