2012 BMW 5-series Changes and Pricing

The 2012 5-series begins production in September. Details have now been released on changes for the 2012 model year for the US. We detail it below (PDF DOWNLOAD HERE):

New Model:
528i xDrive Sedan

New Standard Equipment:
- 4 cylinder TwinPower Turbo Engine (N20)(240hp / 260tq) for 528i
- Auto Start/Stop standard on 528i / 535i
- Active Protection (automatic protective measures in event of imminent accident)
- Driving Dynamics Control with ECO PRO mode (enhances fuel efficiency) (not available for 550i)
- Floor mats

Optional Equipment Changes:
- Comfort Access with Smart Opener - now included with Comfort Access (Smart Opener is hands-free tailgate opening function which detects defined movement of your foot below rear bumper)
- Active Roll Stabilization available on 535i and 550i RWD and xDrive for $2,500
- Integral Active Steering available on 528i models for $1,750
- Ceramic controls available on all models for $650
- Parking Assistant available on 528i/535i/550i for $500
- Anthracite headliner no longer available as stand-alone option

For 2012 in Canada you can't order the 550i. Can only get the 550ix.

ARS (Active Roll Stabilization) was removed.
Now a standalone option for $2500.
