Sat Nav Retrofit
Hi all,
I've done something rather foolish and assumed a basic navigation system was standard on a 535d. Now the car has arrived the proverbial something has hit the fan. Does anyone know if it is possible to retrofit the business nav system? Many thanks |

It's possible yes, but much more expensive now
![]() If you're going to splash out anyway, get Pro Media because the Business isn't much cop, but retrofitting either will be so expensive as to make your eyes water. Get a TomTom and enjoy your engine would be my advice.

That's what I thought, think it is a silly amount of money to pay. The car is on Contract Hire as well so didn't like the idea of spending that much extra for something I'd probably not use very much.
Are the BMW systems as good as portable ones now, as I'd heard they weren't much cop anyway on older models? I'll upload some pictures of the F10 tomorrow, as it has been a horrible day here in Brum! Last edited by mc_blue; 04-20-2012 at 01:42 PM. |

As said just get a good Tom Tom or if you have a good smartphone use that, and enjoy the power of that beast.

And you can also be assured that the TomTom/Garmin will have the current road system mapped!!
I upgraded to 2012 premium nav software and a 'new' dual carriageway beside me is still not on it. The road was completed in November 2010.

Could'nt agree more.. I have the pro Nav and most new roads up here (post 2010) in the frozen north are missing. Looks great but its a bit of style over substance IMO.
