Did BMW remove the automatic rear window shades on the new 2012 models?

I was building a build your own automobile on BMWs website and I noticed that the rear sunshades weren't even an option or part of a package any longer I wonder why they removed it?

I actually think this is an error. I just ordered on from the dealership and we duplicated the window sticker of a 2012 they had in stock (changed some colors) and it did have power side sunshades included. Also check out this PDF, mentions them directly in luxury seating package.

It just doesn't show online when you build the car anymore, it did when I built mine. I thought it would be strange to have removed that option, but then again, BMW took out the hugging seats in the new 5 series sedan (the automatic side bolsters).

Have the rear side shades on our 2012. Picked it up from the Welt first of Feb.

Mine came with electric sunshades on the rear side windows but not the rear window. It's a 2012 535i GT

Mine is the same. I would like to see a rear shade option, but I don't think it exists.

BMW certainly DOES make a rear shade for the GT http://www.bmw.de/de/de/owners/acces...er/finder.html

Now, whether you can get the US distributor to get it or install it is another thing. They sell lots of stuff in Europe that they don't sell here. Be interesting to see and price, though. Part alone is 226-euros, which probably includes VAT, so about 19% less here, plus import.
