The ride is good, especially considering the amount of lowering. Handles better than stock and by no means is stiff. It can be a bit bouncy in comfort mode, but in sport or sport+ it's perfectly fine.

To put my viewpoint in perspective, I come from an E46 M3 with Clubsport coilovers, and feel that my F10 handles decently for the size of the cat. I also do drive my kids in the F10 with no complaints.

I will say that I am switching to KW V3 coilovers, but that's partly due to achieving my ideal ride height.
Thanks for your detailed info. How much did you lower your car with H&R's? Any pics available of before and after?

I believe H&R quotes 1.4" on the front and 1.3" on the rear, my exact numbers where close...I have them written down somewhere.

Here are before and after pics on stock wheels...

H&R springs freshly installed and without any driving or "settling".

I like how it looks, thanks. Was the install difficult? How many hours? $$? if you don't mind me asking.

By the way I've got kids also (3 and 6) and don't want anything extreme as in too low and too stiff.

Install isn't too difficult if you are familiar with suspension work. It is about a 3-4 hour job.

The this would be a good option for you, especially if you feel that the ACS or Eibach doesn't lower it enough. My kids are 7 months and 4yrs.

A few quick questions for you.... did you need to do an alignment after lowering it? Do you think there is tow or camber where it its going to mess up the wear on the tires? Also my car is new and still under warranty as I am sure yours is too. Do you think the dealerships are going to give me any issues when I bring it in for service?

I just did H&R springs about 10 days ago and so far great. Waiting for the car to settle a bit but it looks great. Ride is what I expected (have come from multiple M cars) and not bad at all. I drive in Sport mode most of the time and don't feel any bounciness at all...maybe that is what happens in normal or comfort modes. But so far...so good!

Great ride height...even multiple BMW Salespersons (not just my own) came out to look at it after the service guys did the install and nodded approvingly. Looks great. Nicely lowered...see specs.

I didnt do an alignment on mine. There is nothing to say that you cant or shouldnt, but with my experience of the relatively moderate lowering that the springs provide, there really isnt much of an issue - that and with the installer knowing what they are doing they typically are installing it with little to no changes to the suspension components greatly affecting camber or toe.

However, if you want to go by the book... yes, the ride height has changed and components have been touched, so getting an alignment to correct as much camber or toe is viable.

Basically its a personal preference. All of my cars are lowered and depending on the extent of lowering, I either do an alignment right away or eventually get around to it.

Dealers typically dont give me any issue, but I am going in for regular service. If I were to have a complaint about something in the suspension or tires, then I would be sure they would give me hassles or hint that they may deny my claim. Though the Magnuson-Moss Act would be in your favor, it doesnt mean that its fool proof in the attitude of the warranty provider. In the end, you should be fine, but you have to be smart about it too.

Hope that helps!

Awesome! Looks great. My lowering specs were about the same too.

Its a noticeable difference in the stance of the car....even more so with after market wheels.

Yeah I agree...I just can't decide on any wheels yet. My car is Dark Graphite and I want black wheels with a chrome lip but also with silver rivets so it stands out as I think a black on black wheel would just look too dark. Want 20" but am not trying to spend a zillion dollars so choices are limited.

However my OEM M5 rear diffuser and lower bumper just arrived today! Am waiting for my rear spoiler and my Eissennmann should show up in about 2-3 weeks! So 1st things 1st!

Maybe it's the wheels that make it look lower 20" vs 19"
