NEEDED: Replace F10 Horn with Air Horns

Hi,

Anyone got instructions / advice for installing a set of air horns instead of the normal horn? I (will) have a 2013 F10 535d M-Sport. I figure I should be able to take the power lead from the standard horn & plug it into the air horns but maybe I'm wrong. Any thoughts / pix / tips on where I can mount the air horns etc will be muchly appreciated.

Are you sure you want a
2013 BMW F10 535d
and not a
2013 FORD F250?
Only a fool would put an air horn on their F10.

I'm not going to ask why you need this, you live in Australia that's enough reason.Looks like there is sufficient room behind the kidney grills, which are very easy to remove without taking any screws out.

You can get a Kahlenberg compressor and air tank.

and one or two 10" Buell Horns...

It may be a bit tight, but I think it can be done.

The other way is to go with some cheap Napa air horns...

As stated there should be plenty of room behind the front grille area to mount a moderate sized air horn (if you're serious and not just having a laugh).

Only advice I could dispense after messing around with BMW electronics the past few years is to never risk overloading a particular circuit on these cars. If you plan to replace stock equipment with something that has significantly more draw, use a relay and a direct 12V source. The power distribution in this car is finicky - you'll likely not run into an issue if you ignored this advice - but I promise you'll be out quite a few AUD on the odd chance something goes.
