OEM m-tech front bumper fitment issue?

I got the front bumper painted and installed last month and in the front, where the hood meets the top of the bumper, there is a big gap. Is this normal with an OEM bumper? I tried re-adjusting by taking out the screws from under the hood and pushing up the bumper and re-tightening, but it won't go any further than in the picture.

Also, there is a slight gap where the bottom left of the right headlight (facing the car) meets the bumper

For comparison's sake, here is another picture of a white f10 where the hood and front bumper meet without a major gap:

as if something inside the bumper cover is keeping it from moving towards the back of the car...

There is no way to fix this? Are you saying it's a defect?

I just realized that the shop that put on the bumper used the non-m absorber rather than using the m-sport one. I'm guessing it's possible this would cause the gap?

the impact absorber is #8 here: http://realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?...06&hg=51&fg=15

How big would you say the gap is? Mine is factory and I have a gap as well. I think all cars will have a gap just depends on how big it is. Mine is 2/16" all the way around the hood. So that space is even between hood/bumper and hood/wheel fenders on driver and passenger side. Hope that helps as a reference point to go off of.

I am guessing it's just the way it is.

Compared to this: http://sphotos-h.ak.fbcdn.net/hphoto...56966415_n.jpg

it is bigger and more noticeable. I'll measure the space between hood/fenders and hood/bumper and post here shortly.

Is it required to change that bumper foam absorber? I thought it wasn't of concern.

That's what the guys at LTMW told me, so I saved some money by returning the absorber. But if that's what's causing the gap then I'll get it again
