Audio Upgrade Suggestion and problem
I had Western Car Audio, Bristol come up with an idea to replace my front mid range, add two tweeters and power the under seat subs and the result is stunning. Using Focal components.
Same sort of sound as the Alpine Upgrade that was available before. Or better. Same sort of money too. Now though, my parking sensors, and my BMW gong! is far too loud through the system, sometimes I jump out of my skin. Surely there is a solution to only amplify the music. Any ideas? |

There is a setting in the iDrive to turn the volume of these down. I'm not near my car at the moment but I think its in Main Menu , then settings and then tone. PDC and Gong are in there ( I think)

They are on the minimum already !!!!!!
I think what has happened is the amp has been fitted to amp everything via the I Drive. Perhaps they weren't sure on how to wire the existing sounds to the head unit amp and leave the other output for music - maybe there is no way to fix it. |

![]() Any chance you could PM the cost of your upgrade. I have the business audio upgrade and I think its pretty poor in terms of sound. Was thinking I might get an upgrade to improve the setup. Cheers JD |

Yep the Focal Speakers were £250 ish and I had an amp already
But if you said to them - WCA - could you do me a £550 upgrade same as the old BMW alpine , they might be able to help - I call this stage one. I think I paid £450 but then note I already had the AMP - Ebay has millions of unwanted amps being sold by total anoraks who want the latest. It is so much worth it - Definately worth spending £500 - £600 to start with and under a £1000 will prob add mental bass under the seats. Which I might add. ALWAYS keep bass INSIDE a car... or it unbalances the sound. In the f10 you want to keep it "hi fi" BMW ish BTW they fixed my issue... FREE!!!!!!!! OMG!!!!!! It was a setting.. nice quiet gongs now. |

When I did my full upgrade I also had the bongs and reverse beeper etc too loud. I just had to turn the levels down on the amp to balance the system better.
See post #3 from this thread for my upgrade details: http://f10.5post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=609603
