Akebono = no more squeaking!

I got so tired of the squeaking I finally changed the pads on the front.
Before squeak on first 1-2 times coming to full stop when its humid .. now its perfect! So relieved..
Besides fixing the noise, the car comes to stop and off a stop much, much smoother than before .. it feels like a high-class, pleasurable car to drive now. SO happy..
If you got squeaky brakes, or want smoother braking feel (=less BMW brake pad 'bite) then you can try this..
Akebono EUR1504 for 528i,520i
EUR1409 for 535i .. not sure about 550i

Was looking at that as well. Where did you end up ordering from?

You're in luck - eur1409 fit 550i, and should 650igc 650i etc.
see here:
http://www.tirerack.com/brakes/brake...s&dtab=Reviews

I got at rockauto.com for 80+36 shipping .. really good, didn't have to even bother with asking tirerack for a quote and wire if they don't take credit card
They have eur1409 too:
http://www.rockauto.com/dbphp/x,cata...O_EUR1409.html

But you have confirm this, i just know know EUR1504 is fitted snug and well on my non-high speed brake 528i.

Also this is useful to check your VIN .. turn out I been looking at realoem wrong all this time, the HK 528i is actually a 530i according to the official VIN

http://www.rubmw.ru/vincode/eng/

You can find the VIN on every body panel and windshield, but I was dumb and opened the front to find it under the hood

That's the strange thing. The 6GC is so superior in all aspect to the F10 that I have yet to do a single performance mod to my car The stock brakes on the F10 doesn't quite inspire confidence in braking. But the 6GC brakes are great! Which left me quite baffled, as they are the same brakes as I had on the F10 550i stock.......

I am considering brake pads not for performance but just to avoid brake dust on my liquid black 356s

PS. To fix all the deficiencies on the F10, just switch to the F06 Steering, handling, engine response, etc..... All night and day! Even my brother-in-law with his F10 M5 think very highly on the F06 in all aspects after he drove it!

Agree with your PS but one F06 = price of two F10

I wonder that too .. the suspension setup is probably totally different on a fundamental basis .. on individual parts like brakes they do a simple job you can maybe feel it is it working properly or not.. the susp geometry cannot change
I would get 650GC if I had the money.. is enough power and high tech, and so few on the road
So you going to do it already?

Yup Satin Pearl White. The car looked great now! Even my 2 little girls told me the car looked so much better than before

But I am not sure how the pearl white will look on the F10 Theres always Moonstone metallic......

Nice..
You're right I see a lot of the white M3 .. but not a frozen one! How long will you keep this, and what is the next color on your menu?

I did cold brake in very wet conditions on start ... non noise except very faint grabbing vv. minor high pitched noise - can't tell if from front or back so I take this as 100% fixed. If I can determine the backs are responsible for this very minor noise, then may change backs to softer brand when they are done..
Case closed.

I am amazed the wrap is such a nice color..it is really very hard to do.just as good as the paint jobs it seems..previously the frozen whites were just matte whites. It seems vibrant colors are better than c. concepts.

They all can order the same paper. Just 3M satin pearl white. The difference between satin and matte is that satin is a bit more reflective than matte. So the pearl white really stands out.

Grim... Did you also change rotors when you change pads? Are you concerned about the different compounds? Just received my pads and am wondering whether I should change rotors as well.......

no i didn't. you shouldn't bother either, you car is NEW
not like they have any new cool aftermarket rotors to try, until that time
don't even bother scrubing the rotors or anything, it cleans itself! .. can reuse sensor etc.
it arrived? enjoy..

ps. on cold, cold stop in super humid, i can get a faint noise from the rear - but not that front, they are unsqueakable now!
