Question for a Wheel Expert
I have a 2013 550i xdrive coming in next week with the msport package. I just bought BMW 464m rims. The specs on the tires are below. Before I bought the BMW rims I was going to order AG M355 rims. My question is this- The rears on the AG rims are 10.5J. The rears on the BMW rims that I purchased are 9J. Does this mean the rims in the rear will not look as beefy as the AG rears with the 10.5. If so do I just need to install a spacer? What spacer would be the equivalent width between the 9 and the 10.5?
Front Wheels: 8.5J x 20 Offset: 33 EH2+ / Rear Wheels: 9J x 20 Offset: 44 EH2+. Front Tires: 245/35 R20 95Y / Rear Tires: 275/30 R20 97Y. http://www.shopbmwusa.com/PRODUCT/38...--COMPLETE-SET Thanks, Scott |

The AG M355 are 1.5" wider so they would wider for sure, you'd normally run wider tires, like 285, then.
The size of the spacer depends on the offset.

20x9 +44 is gonna be really tucked. If you want the flush look you can prob get a 25mm spacer and still have room.

Don't think I'd do more than 18mm.

I think he's saying the rears are 9x20 with a 44 offset. I would recommend 25 mm spacers in the rear and 15mm spacers in the front. I have both and I'll sell them to you. PM me if you're interested.

I know the rears are 20x9 ET44, but with 275 tires and 25mm spacers, making it ET19, i think that might rub. At least it will be very close.

My last rears were 20x10.5 ET35 which is 3mm more aggressive than what his would be with 25mm spacers and I wasn't rubbing. It will be perfect! Trust me

Thanks a lot for these pics. Those rims look great, they look sporty and classy at the same time. I think they're growing on me. Would you have any side pic ?
Your car looks fantastic, btw ! How's the ride ? Not too harsh ? What do you guys think of those rims ? |

Here is a pic before I put the spacer on. The ride is rigid but I prefer that way.

Man your car is the one ! It looks crazy.
No dysfunction with xDrive and this staggered setup so far ? Did the staggered setup show more understeering compared to the squared setup ? I'm wondering if I should better get a set of 4 20x8,5 ET33 as it wouldn't need any spacers at the rear (compared to ET 44)... Last edited by VodkaOne; 10-12-2013 at 02:42 AM.. |
