Hey Alan, did you ever look into 10.5 inch rears with the 285? I'm thinking about a staggered set up with BBS CH-Rs 245/35/20 and 285/30/20 but am worried about x-drive and also too much stretch on the rears at 10.5. How did you decide about this?

Hi Alan,
Firstly, I'd like to that say you have one beautiful car. You've definitely promoted Space Grey as a viable color! Just out of curiousity, what are the specifications on your new 2014 550i? What color is the interior and exterior? Also, why did you choose to go with a non x-drive model this time? Thanks! |

Thanks for the compliments!
I love Space Grey enough that I also ordered the 550 in the same color Space Grey with Ivory White Nappa - Black nappa i have now is classy but i hate the fact that you see every dust particle on it. I find myself dusting the interior every day. White will stain if you dont take care of it but it shouldn't be a problem for me Went with RWD model this time because i wanted the Msports suspension and didn't feel I needed AWD for the hand full of days we get snow here in NY. I also don't drive my car daily so if inclement weather hits I'll just leave the car home. I have dedicated snow tires ready for the 550 as well for those just incase situations. 5-10 snow days we get here isn't worth sacrificing the rest of the 355 days of the year of beautiful rwd handling Alan

The only way to do smoked tailights correctly is to paint them on. Basically they mix some black paint to your desired darkness with clear coat and paint it on. The finish is like oem and super glossy like the rest of the car. The cheap way of doing it is by vinyl wrapping it but you can tell instantly and looks low grade to me.

I have seen the tailights in person, and they do look gorgeous. However, since my GT is extra rare, it would be much harder for me to trade/sell my taillights rather than someone with an F10.

No, of course not man.
And what you said just now is exactly what I meant. If you tint the lights, The result would not be as good as painting your taillights like Alan did, IMO. And when you do paint your taillights, it'll be harder for you to sell them. Hence, beauty is pain. Lol

And I have actually tinted my tailights, and they don't look half bad if I'm honest. http://f10.5post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=852023

Sorry to resurrect this classic thread, but I was hoping someone could tell me the differences with the first two wheels in this link:
http://www.baanvelgen.com/blog/morr-...at-baan-velgen Both are silver wheels, but the first is a matte finish and the second is gloss? Alan, your wheels on your first F10 was polished gloss VS8.2 wheels? |

The Morr VS8.2 are discontinued so unless someone has old stock I don't think its possible to get them new now
My old wheels were the middle one. Brushed finish with glossy clear coat. The first wheel in your link just looks like regular silver painted. Alan |

Thanks Alan. This old ad threw me off because the polished wheel looks like a painted one to me. I know that it may just be the pics.
