How often do you guys clean/wipe down your leather seats?
Just want to know how often do you guys wipe down/detail your leather seat. I have the Ivory white Nappa leather and I just detailed my interior 2 weeks ago and it seems like it's getting a little dirty again. My kids doesn't eat inside my car just normal sitting and moving around. Any good leather wipes to use to keep the leather nice and clean? Thanks for the input.

I have beige dakota leather seats, and wipe them down 2-3 times a year. The interval is mostly because I'm lazy and not because I'm worried about doing it too much. Then again, I don't have kids ...

I also do this 2-3 times a year, but I'm single and matriculate about my car, so I never drive with dirty clothes, no eating in the car ect. and I'm out of the country half the year.
Got my F11 in May, its only done 4000km since, and the leather has was treated in June and November. Think I have the Merino Leather. there are some great products out there. I use Swissvax, and they have a leather cleaner kit. a cleaner comes in a spray bottle and you wipe it off with a towel. then you can apply a milk to keep it soft. there is a brush in the kit for that tough dirt. |

Depends on the color. My black leather 550 every one or two years. Camel in the 330 convertible at least once a year full scrub and conditioner. Oyster in the 435 convertible, well, let's just say "maybe that was a mistake"? Serious scrub of drivers seat and armrest every 1000 miles. Other seats get near zero use so once a year.

Any leather, Dakota, Nappa, Merino, is like a wool suit. You want to clean it as little as possible unless you get specific dirt spots/spills/color runoff from clothes. That said, I do a spot clean every month (I have a baby and a dog). I do a full vacuum/conditioner/brush and cleaner twice a year. Honestly, a good vacuuming once a month is probably best, as most of the wear and tear is from abrasion. If you vacuum thoroughly, you'll have less debris to rub on the leather (especially all the small bits you don't really see, like stuff the size of sand grains).
As for what I use, the BMW leather cleaner works great for spot cleans, but I've also used Swissvax and Leather Master to good effect for full details. I'm running Coral Red now and it's much easier than the Oyster I previously had to maintain.
