2013 528i X-Drive Timing Chain Whine

I have a 2013 528i X-Drive with 56k miles. Brought it into the dealer for an oil change special and the tech said he could hear a very faint whine. They asked me to wait 30-45 mins while they contacted BMW. About 10 mins later, my service advisor and the head tech came out and told me BMW is going to cover the full repair, They gave me a loaner and said I should have my car back Friday or Saturday. I have been worried about the potential for this for a while. Getting it done now, while under warranty, makes me happy.

For those keeping track:

2013 528i X-Drive, 56k mi, Production 10/12, auto start stop coded out at 4k miles.

It's good that you are getting it done now and covered.
It's covered because they extended it for that issue.

I know. My worry was that the 7 year part of the warranty will be up 1/2/20 for me.

I have the exact same vehicle and mine was serviced for the same about a month ago. When you go to pick up your vehicle sit in idle for about 1-2 min. When I went to pick up my car it was riding a little rough and had to return it to have them adjust things.

Got the car back today, everything seems good. No rough idle or anything
