Scenario 2 : got in the car hit start button wait the cluster to show all message and ( like the old cars turn ignition on ) the put my feet on the break and start the car crank 2 or 3 times and start. the car after run just normaly. the behaviour occure each time i shut the car off cold or hot the same i made a video showing this behaviour https://youtu.be/zng2OddgCzM we did some diag using ista-d and found no communication with EKPS module error , we replaced it but no luck.tested the wires going to it and from it. battery changed. i dont know if its linked to issue but car also show error regarding key ( Remote control not present or fault. Engine cannot be started. See owners manual ) replaced battery fault still occure each time a open close dors |

My e61 530d was doing this, I changed the battery, then a few days later it wouldn't start at all. I was presuming electronic.
It happened in the centre of London, at a petrol station with just two pumps, no one could get passed me, taxis queuing down the street, ended up buying an F11 over the phone waiting for recovery truck as was reading all sorts of horror stories. It was the starter motor. £80 and an hour to swap it and it was up and running good as new. |

I replied on yourtube too.
I don't know why, maybe something to do with the stop start electronics? I just know mine was like this too, then it failed completely. I hadn't even considered the starter at that point. It might not be, but for the cheap price of a starter it is probably worth trying. Try waiting for the lights to go out as the first start. Does it still crank quicker? |

Maybe replace glow plugs.
other than that you might have a bad ground cable or shorted out injectors due to moisture.
