What is this small steel sleeve?

After a recent visit to the dealer with my 2015 550i (oil change and some intake work) I found this little steel sleeve sitting on top of the radiator cover. Any idea what it might be and where it's from?

The picture might not show it, but it's hollow inside all the way through, like a thick washer.

Go to Reddit and post the photo on r/whatisthisthing. They'll be all over it. Then report back here...

Is it metallic? if so, looks like the sleeve used to hold the plastic intake to the turbochargers (one of the two on each side)

This is super helpful!
Yes, it is metal. And the dealer was replacing the turbo intake pipe, so that also fits the story.
Would these come with a new pipe? I'm trying to figure out if this one came from the old one (and is not needed anymore) or do I have to go back there and put it in.

Believe it comes with the plastic pipe. Otherwise you'll crack the pipe as you screw it in. This helps prevent stress in the plastic. I'm guessing it's just left behind from the older broken piece
