Bmw 5 series 535i 2011 Knocking sound
I recently encountered a knocking sound from the engine. It knocks , then stops them later on it comes back it’s not permanent but it comes every now and then. The car has 84kmi. Changed valve cover, boost solenoid , tranny service, it’s tuned stage 2. Drives smooth. But it has that knocking sound that comes and goes. I’m thinking it’s the rod bearings but i don’t know much. Can anyone help ?

Similarly, they ask what oil you use as different oils have different additive packages which will show up in the results. |

To be honest, if it's rod knock, an oil analysis won't tell you anything you won't already know.
