Military Titles?

Hey, what is the little caption that appears just under the user name? Some say new member or registered and others have a military sounding rank - private, major, etc. I just noticed this today. What's that all about?

the more you post the higher up you go. it's just for kicks i guess. you can change it in your settings to whatever you want.

Yes, more posts gives you a higher rang.
Here's a link to the top 40 posters, and now it seems like when you get 80 000 post you become Joint Chiefs of Staff.
