Has anyone compared at length (F10 535i or 550i) the M sport suspension against adaptive drive with the toggle button on sport mode and the iDrive adjusting the chassis and drivetrain?

M-suspension
I Just signed the contract yesterday for my F11 with M-package. M-suspension was part of the package. 10mm lower than normal suspension. But I ordered the EDC. I tryed it, and was convinced. Stiff enough in sport +, awesome comfort in "comfort" modus. Really the best of two worlds.

Is EDC the Adaptive or Dynamic suspension - the ability to switch between Comfort, Normal, Sport and Sport +? If that's what it is, then you can have M-suspension in addition to that control? |

I agree, but I don't think the sport+ is as rigid and responsive as the M sport suspension dampers. I would like to hear feedback from those in Europe who have compared the two. It would need a significant tweak given the weight of the car.

If you choose EDC you loose the M-suspension, which is just a fixed "old-fashioned" system. With EDC the suspension is not lowered. I have M-suspension on my 330, but sometimes I get tired of the hard ride, so I really like the possebility to change the suspension from stiff to soft. I tell you, the comfort on "comfort" was incredible. You could hardly feel speed bumps at all, but going over the same speed bumps on "sport" was like the m-package on my 330i.IF you have to pass them 10 times a day to work you get sick of those.
I get my new car in september, first thing is to test it on the Nûrburgring. Will post a report after that :-) |

This is correct. You cannot mix the M-Sport suspension with DHP in any market!!!!

Seems you US guys have no factory option to lower the car? I'd say BMW USA are playing a marketing game and you will see a M-Sport lowered suspension option later in the model lifecycle? Bad move BMW USA. If I were an US buyer I'd also be very unhappy with this. The magic of the M-Sport suspension set-up is not just lowering, it also provides dampers, springs and bushing tuned for mixed-size bigger wheels, from a purist view all the other chassis options are a compromise!

I just compared a loaded 550i using the pricing in this thread versus pricing that was in effect in May. The same configuration is $7,455 more expensive now. (For Euro Delivery, the difference is $7,120.) EEEEEK!!!!!!

i was really hoping the m sport pkg was going to solidify my decision to actually make an f10 my next lease once my e60 lease ends this december. however that's not the case, seems bmw has continued to make the sport pkg's (zsp and m sport) purely cosmetic for the US market. I honestly think a non m sport f10 mod'd (such as lacster's f10 535i) looks better than an m sport configurated f10 (US market)...that m sport rear bumper is the deal breaker for me...hope RDSport releases their kit soon so i can further contemplate what I'm going to do....

Thanks for the retail price sheet... but does anyone have the dealer invoice price for the 535i xDrive? Just the base price USA port of entry will be good enough.
Thanks, DAK |
