Key Fob in Washer... Still Reprogrammable?

Key was in pants and went in the washer/dryer. None of the buttons on the fob work but I can put the key fob up to the steering column and turn the car on. That's the only way it'll start.

Will the key still be programmable to work again or is it fried ?

Open her up, blow dry, change battery. Works on cell phones.

Yeah I opened it and changed the battery. And I can start it by holding it up to the steering column. I ordered a new key from BMW , and tried to have them program this one as well since I have the key insurance. But they told me the key wasn't programming and I wanted to see if they are BSing me or not.

bro...there's other ways of cleaning your keys! like licking it!

that's what happens when you don't tell me what trunk spoiler you got!
