13 535, should I?

Hi everyone,

Looking at a 2013 535 M Sport, clean history, 56,000kms or ~37,000 miles with no warranty. This would be my 4th BMW in the last 8 years. We currently have an X5, and we previously owned a 1 series and 335. I am familiar BMW in general.

My question for you is are you happy with the overall performance, quality, reliability and cost of ownership of this particular model? For what reason would you not consider the car based on your experience?

Thanks in advance for the feedback.

My experiences are with a 2000 740iL and a 2012 535i. Unless you are a DIYer, look to sell at around 95,000 miles. Great car before and great car after, but things are wearing out and BMWs are not cheap to repair.

We have a 2012 (83K+ miles) and 2014 535i (36K+ miles). Couldn't be happier. Gave up a half second to 60 to the 550 but gained mpg and reliability.

Good to hear. I have it going for a pre-purchase inspection on Tuesday to determine if anything is needed.

Cheers

Have had great experience with my '13. Sits at 54.8K miles, this month marks two years of ownership. Only one problem ever, a programming fault that caused the HVAC headunit to stop functioning. Great looking car

I have a Canadian 2013 535xi with 105k kms on it including three winters in Ottawa. It has been off-warranty for the past two years. My car has proven to be very reliable so far requiring just routine maintenance. The only part failure was the AC condenser, which seems to be a common problem with our F10s and could have been caused by rock damage.
