Strange pump/humming sound in cold weather during warm up...
I've been noticing something strange on my LCI 550 lately. The weather has been hovering in the teens a lot and I noticed that during warm up while driving i can occasionally hear some sorta pump or humming sound coming from the front of the car. The hum is very faint and lasts for a few seconds and stops but comes back sporadically until the car is fully warmed up.
It doesn't do it when the car is stationary The sound doesn't change as the cars speed increases/decreases Sound lasts for 2-4 seconds until warmed up. Doesn't do it all the time Weather has been below freezing a lot lately. Car only has 3K miles on it Sounds like either some sort of pressure relief valve or like a power steering pump moan but my 550 is rwd so it has electric steering. Alan

I hear similar sounds from my X5 35i. Except I hear them when I unlock the doors, lock doors, right when I start the car, right after I turn it off.
