Subwoofers in Trunk added to Premium sound Package

2 JL 12w6v2 powered by a JL HD700/1. I'm going to eventually change out all the cabin speakers to Focals but so far sounds really good. It all depends on how you make the box and if the subs face front or rear. I played around with a few setups and this one is the most intense.

I can see you guys tomorrow.......its a single amp and its located in the small compartment right underneath the the floor liner where the spare usually is. Ill take a pic tomorrow and post it.

Looks great! I think my F10 is going to be the first car where I don't put a system in. I had Focal's in my Honda but went with a full JL setup in my truck.

How do the stock speakers measure up with the subs?

It does add some weight but that's where the Dinan upgrade comes in handy plus this isn't my race car more like a nice daily driver thats a monster. Oh and the Amp is a JL 750/1 not 700. My mistake.

The Stock Speakers are great with the subs. You can always adjust the power to the subs per song and style of music but the stock interior cabin speakers are just fine and that's why I'm in no hurry to swap them out. The stock premium sound system sounds great alone and doesn't need anything.....I just happen to like and want a little more kick or low end toque when it comes to sound but not obnoxious. It sounds great. Don't get me wrong if I put the subs to max they will drown out the cabin speakers but they will also destroy my ears so that's never going to be the case. You can probably get a perfect balance even at max output with 2 10" speakers with a ported box entering the cabin from the center arm rest compartment in the back seat. I had these 12's in a closed box facing the trunk instead of the cabin and it was probably 50% less intense and I liked it like that but there was so much pressure built up in my drunk it would pop my gas lid all the time. Now I have a 1" piece of plexi glass and the pressure in the trunk is almost non existant however the cabin is blowing up lol. This setup adds 80-90 pounds to my car but I shaved that weight off with my aftermarket wheels which took off 20lbs per corner

Yeah it sounds really good. Your will sound good too make sure you do a ported box and have it shoot through the back seat center arm rest. If yours isn't open then open it up its only 4 bolts holding a plate there. This setup works better than a sealed box with speakers facing the rear.
