Anyone put 22's on their car?

Well guys, been a while since I was here last.

Been a good 3 years since I got my F11, and while I did not plan on having it this long, the unbelievable depreciation has made me decide to hold on to it for a few more years.
And with that comes the urge to start modding, as I have kept it stock until now, modding will give me a hint of that new car feel.

I wanted to upgrade from the stock 19", and I find 20" a bit small, and thought I would go for 21".
At the moment my eyes are set on the Vossen CV3R, but they only come in 20" and 22", and I'm concerned that will be too big.

I also plan to lower the car with the H&R springs, my car has EDC and the Adaptive Drive suspension so the springs are my only option.

So anyone here done 22's or have an opinion on the subject.

Not completely true...I think I read that a few people with EDC/Adaptive Drive were able to do coilovers.

I'm sure you can, but I would think you would lose the EDC function.

But it's my daily driver, and a wagon, not going for a slammed look, just a drop and the X-Drive make it silly high. think the H&R was 35mm front and 15mm rear.

Still undecided on the wheel size.

That is correct.

IMO, 22" is oversized for the F10/F11 chassis. The only F10 I knew of with 22" wheels that actually looked good was Jay Garcia's car and he was slammed on air suspension.

I think you may be right. I'm struggling to find pictures of cars with 22".
I think 20" is a litte small and that 21" would be the best fit.
Might have to go for a different set than the Vossen CV3R.
Maybe I have to look into the Avant Garde AGL15 or Velos VCS L.

I just want the most concave wheel I can get my hands on.

A member posted pictures of 22" wheels on his F10, he has pictures before and after dropping his car on ACS springs.

I have H&R's on my F10 550i, going to be swapping them out soon for something a little less bouncy. Ive had them for 25k miles.

hey Noggie, how are the roads in your area? 22's have pretty much rubber bands for sidewalls as i'm on 21's and my sidewalls are pretty thin too! but being here in OHIO it's pretty flat.

I'm one of those people.

The H&R's I had with my adaptive suspension was very good; and for a lot of people, good enough. But after a while...I began to yearn for an even more aggressive stance. So I went over to coilovers.

Not to bad where I do most of my driving, there is the occasional pot hole, but not too bad.
I have 19" on my other car, on 245/30 front and 275/35 rear, and that is ok.

Still undecided, while the car previously posted did look good on 22's, to retain some level of comfort, perhaps 20 is the best option, after all, it's my daily driver.

In my opinion...22's would be too big for a sedan of this stature. I had 22's on my X5, that was nice. Not so much on a 535i; probably won't be able to drive faster than 25mph for fear of totally demolishing your rims.

If you're referring to Isturbointeg's ride, I believe his are 21's.

No, I was referring to the car in the link by dblock2151.

I had a look at a tire calculator site, getting tires in the right dimension is hard.
Looks like you need something like 245/25 and 285/30 to get the correct circumference, and those appear to be hard to come by.
You are looking at 2" sidewall which is nothing.

Maybe I will havet to go for the 20" Vossen CV3R, or find some other 21" wheel.
I guess 20" will look OK is you get the correct offsets.
Something like 9" front with 25mm offset and 10,5" rears with a 35mm offset.

For pure aesthetics the 21's are the way to go. For performance go with 20's. That's what i do
